Convert ext2 to ext3 or something else?

When I installed mandrake 9.1 i used the native ext2 file system... now i'm wondering if i should switch to a journalised one cause every time i shut down improperly for one reason or another it gives me errors about the filesystem... so i'm wondering, out of these, which are the best:
ext3
reiserfs
xfs
I'm thinking ext3 is pretty good cause i also run windows xp on a separate partition, and i would like to be able to access files either way, and the best program to access linux partitions i've seen is ext2fs, which as far as i know only supports ext2 and ext3... so does anyone know of another program for windows that can access xfs or reiserfs?
In any case, whats the easiest way to convert ext2 to ext3? if i use the Drakx custom partitioning tool included with the mandrake 9.1 installer and change the filesystem to ext3 from there, would that make me lose all my data?

i know that you can change the ext2 to ext3 without loosing your data. if you change to reisersfs or xfs you will loose things, all of them actually.

i would read the man pages, because i can't remember the exact format to change. it's something like argh..... -j, i know that the j is correct. one of the others will tell you the correct terminology.

reinstall with the reisersfs when reiers4fs come out, hopefully soon.

cheers.
