Controlling what appears in the taskbar
I'm running KDE 3.2.1 on Suse 9.1
Does anyone know how to prevent programs from putting a tab on the KDE taskbar? I want the program to start and run normally, but I just don't want anything in the task bar indicating that it's running. Specifically, I'm doing this for torsmo, and I didn't find anywhere in the documentation about how to do this. Thanks for any help |
You can just delete the task bar from the panel and then no programs will show up there. That's what I do.

I want to be able to do this selectively with certain programs. Most programs I still want to show up in the taskbar.

I'm interested in doing this as well, but with Eterm. I have yet to find a solution :-/

I figured out how to solve my problem. Turns out there is an option under Configure Desktop that allows you to draw stuff directly to the desktop. And then I turned off the Draw Window option for torsmo, so no window popped up in my taskbar.
pibby, maybe this link will help you, if you're running KDE 3.3 http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...ht=xmms+window |
Actually, I'm running Fluxbox, so unfortunately that solution won't work for me. Glad it worked out for you though! Back to searching
