Console resolution

Hi!
I have Debian Sid. I want to change my console resolution, so i add the vga=ask option in the lilo.conf, execute /sbin/lilo. Now lilo ask me for a resolution at startup. OK so far. But when i choose f. e. Option 4 (80x50) it boots with this resolution, but when the pinguin comes to the screen, the font changes back to standard (80x30).
Whitch script does this in Debian? How can i change it?
