Connecting to windows netmeeting remote desktop sharing from linux
I'm running Netmeeting remote desktop sharing in one of my PCs and want to connect to it from a linux box. I'm using FC3 with kernel 2.6.12. When I tried it using the gnomemeeting, it gets connected successfully but it doesn't open the remote console in my linux PC (as it does when connecting from a other windows PC). Is it possible to get the windows console in the linux box? Is there any other tool that can be used instead of gnomemeeting?
Regards,
- Jack

not sure if this is going to be of any help for you, but if you are running winXP Pro you can set up and configure RDP via the remote access under My Computer, Properties, Remote.
by remote console what are you referring to, the MSDOS window that is opened via either:
start
run
command or cmd
or something different?

then if you are using winXP Pro, the best way to do that is via the RDP. then you just need to rdesktop or your favorite view. i like the one that comes with KDE as it has plenty of options, but rdesktop -o user=name IP works great. you can man rdesktop and get a full list of options or rdesktop --help then you can just make a desktop icon with the full rdesktop command to have user/pw and IP all set so all you do is click and go.
