Connecting to itunes using linux

I am trying to get a specific audio podcast downloaded.

The site is http://mosaic.org/podcast

If you go there you find a link to an istores feed. Is it possible using any linux program to actually subscribe to that istores feed? The URL is http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/M...st?id=74403741 which every browser says is an unsupported address.

The feed is also supposedly available to plain RSS news aggregators. I cannot find an address which will actually deliver a link to the mp3 file to my desktop. If anyone can tell me the address that I should put into my RSS program I would appreciate it. When I subscribe to mosaic.org/podcast/feed I just get links back to this podcast page.

Please note that I don't have an ipod, I don't want to manage my music collection, I don't want to browse the istores collection-- I just want to download the messages from this podcast as they come out each week.

I'm not totally useless at using RSS- I actually have about 20 other feeds that I subscribe to, including podcasts- but I really can't figure this one out.

Thanks

Keith

The link is on the page under the heading "Can I use a Podcast reader other than iTunes?". Just copy-paste it into your podcatcher...

Hi,

Thanks Matthew. I hadn't realised that you needed a different software to your normal RSS reader. I found rhythmbox has a good podcatcher- although it seems to have issues with my sound card. So I can use it to download the podcasts which I only listen to on a mp3 player anyway.

Thanks for the pointer.

Keith

Amarok does a good job too. It's what I use. What is the problem with rhythmbox's sound? Is it just mp3's or does it fail to play any audio files? (e.g. ogg)
