Exclamation Connecting to a remote coputer

I tried to connect my Linux test machine to another local machine running MS Windows 2000. No luck. Are there any networking features in Linux that don't come up by themselves that I failed to turn on?

If so, how do I turn them on.

P.S. My computer skills are limited (and have been further retarded by years of Windows use), so please provide your answers in a way that a 5th grader would understand.

i don't know if i get rou right here. you may try to share the folders you want access to on the windows box, and then from the linux box:
mount -t smbfs //your.windows.box.ip/folder /where/you/want/it/mounted
works fine for me

I don't know what I'm doing wrong. All I know is that when I click on the LAN Browser I get the following message:

The lisa daemon does not appear to be running.

In order to use the LAN Browser the lisa daemon must be installed and activated by the system administrator.

I have no idea what a lisa daemon is not how to install one.
