Question Conky System Monitor for Fedora 7

I saw in a specific site that the conky is light weight system monitor and can be configured in Ubuntu to be displayed as a fantastic desktop widget. Is there any way that I can use Conky in Fedora 7 ?

If it can be done, how to install conky in Fedora?

Please help...

Well, Conky homepage at conky.sourceforge.net says there are several installation methods, binaries or source. I didn't see (taking a quick look) any Fedora pre-built binaries there, so you can either take the source code and compile yourself (provided that you've got compilers etc. installed properly), or you can see if somebody has built an RPM package for you; rpm.pbone.net is one place to look for such packages (but it's a different matter if their version is ok); rpm.pbone.net might not have the very latest version of Conky, but it seems there are some rpm packages for the almost-latest version for Fedora 7. Download and try

Thanks for the prompt help.

As I am new to Linux World, but I have one silly question. You guys sometimes speak of "source code", "compile", etc. What are these things?

Can those be done by an idiot like me? Yah... I am not joking. If someone can explain what are those things, what you need to do those things, how to do those things (in Fedora 7), then perhaps it would be little bit easier to grasp.

Have you seen a stone-brained dull guy? If not then you must see me...

Hence please guide me (if possible) in a step-by-step way...

And did I forgot to tell you that I have found the RPM in the site you mentioned. Thanks again...

Waiting for your help friends...
