configuring X11 and x11vnc on a machine without any real input/output
Okay, heres the situation... I have a linuxbox without monitor keyboard or mouse. Id like to vnc to it and run some lightweight Desktop environment. Its running slack9 currently that was installed without any X components.
Installed X and ran xdm that created one local screen. now as I try to run xauth + I get this error: Xlib: connection to "localhost:0.0" refused by server Xlib: No protocol specified XOpenDisplay failed (localhost:0.0) And the same error pops up when i run x11vnc all other values to Display variable have been tried and I have tried it both as root and as a regular user... Its a personal router box in otherwise very protected environment so security is unimportant at this state. I just want to get it running... |
correction first was from runing xhost +
But the same thing comse up when I try to use generate command in xauth I really dont undestand the X premissions system... Somemebody HELP? PLESE! in tutorial form preferably... |
