Configuring Wine to see a DVD-ROM

I've installed wine without much incidence of my Mandrake 10.1 CE pc. Wine works great and runs most programs, but one crucial program in particular I'm having trouble getting it to run. DVD Shrink, the excellent archiving software somehow only for Windows, will install and run fine, but when I click Open Disc, the list of DVD drives is empty. I suspect this is because I haven't configured wine to trick Windows programs into seeing a DVD-ROM drive, and I've read some stuff that seems like it might help, but all documentation refers to wine.conf, which I absolutely can not find and am never directed to. Does anyone know where the .conf file is and how I can modify it to add in DVD drives? Most sincere thanks.

Hello,

The wine configuration file and the 'fake' windows directories are all stored in a hidden wine directory, usually in your home directory - eg, /home/user/.wine (note dot preceding 'wine')

if you use konqueror, you can display hidden files and directories by going to the 'view' menu and selecting 'show hidden files'.

i seem to remember that there was quite a nifty utility - winesetuptk or something like that - that provided a convenient way of setting things up, but it's been a while since i messed with wine.

an excellent resource is -

Cheers.
