Configuring window list (panel) applet to function like in Windows (7-10)
What I'm using is Linux Mint 18.1 MATE edition. The problem is that the default window list panel applet doesn't stack open windows if they're the same program / app (e.g. if I open 2 firefox windows, panel shows me 2 separate firefox icons plus the titles of the windows) and this takes a lot of space from my panel, unlike in windows where it has only the icon of that specific program and shows the preview of open windows only when I hover over that icon.
Is there any software / applet that would make the default panel function more or less like it does in windows? At least I would like to stop the default window list applet from showing the title of the open window and show a preview of it when I hover over the icon on the panel instead (automatic or at least the ability to stack still would be nice).
