configuring PPP
 

I am trying to configure a dial up connection to my ISP, anyways I think my modem works but i tried to install Kppp from source and it says i need "qt" well qt is a fairly large file and I am thinking that its not the only file im missing.

does anyone know of a better PPP configuration utility that doesnt take KDE libraries?

the problem is that ppp is really kppp
and that requires loads of kde libraries to be installed

there is wvdial (i think that's what it's called)
i haven't ever used anything other than kppp so i'm going on "memory of posts read"

there are definitely alternatives
