Configuring FVWM2

This is a long shot but I hope someone can help. Since installing Slack (On the first try I might add), I got X and my network card working. During installation I chose FVWM2 since I hear it's a lighter WM and has a centralized config file. That sounded pretty good to me so I installed. Now when I booted up FVWM2 I noticed a few problems.

First: I noticed that alot of the default icons just do not work because I did not have the actual programs installed. So I want to get rid of them but I was not sure how.

Second: I hate the way FVWM2 switches between windows just by a mouse over event. I'd rather go with the click to activate setup.

Third: I regrettable would like to have a taskbar instead of a floating window.

Any help is appreciated.

You can get plenty of info at fvwm.org, just look up the man pages posted there. You should be looking for info on the button bar and windowlist. In fact, you can probably swallow the windows list into the button bar, and you'll end up with something like a taskbar.

good luck, and have fun.

If you didn't find an answer at fvwm.org please post another message. I've been disecting my .fvwm2rc file and many others to learn how to use this stuff, so I can help with just about any configuration options.
