configuring dialup in suse 10.2

I installed suse10.2 and yast detected my modem , but was not able to configure dialup connection.when i tried to connect through kppp,it showed that the modem is not responding.kinternet also showed the same problem.

try the command
wvdialconf
see
man wvdialconf
