I did a modrpobe and nothing came up. A note though my logitech usb mouse and my nikon coolpix 4300 work fine when hooked up though usb. Any more thougts, switching to windows everytime I have to print is getting kinda old.

did modprobe give any errors at all just just worked but the devie isn't there

I have a lexmark z25m. It does not work with cups. It does work with lpr/lpd. Install the lpr spooler and then install the lexmark driver.
