Configuring a FTP Server

Is there any way to configure your ftp server in mandrake with a gui interface instead of at the terminal?

Depends on which ftp server you are using. Webmin has modules that provides a web-based configuration screen for proftpd, pure-FTPd, vsftpd, and the standard ftpd. There really isn't much to configure in setting up an ftp server, so stick with the terminal if you can.

Specific GUIs:
Proftpd - gproftpd
Pureftpd - KcmPureftpd

I did install somthing that gave me a server wizard in control center that walked me through setting up the server that was good. But i'm looking for somthing that will go farther than that like setting the users permissions and stuff like that.

I used gproftpd.......and it is up and runnign even for a noob like me I am stoked! Very simple to get running but now comes the hard part to make sure it is secure and user friendly with the fastest connection possible........
Let me know if I can share more of my "knowledge" about this ftp thing???
