Configure setting to connect to internet??


i have college linux 2.5 and i need to know how to configure it so i can connect to the internet. i use charter communications for my isp. if u could help me out i would really appreciate it

what have you tried already that didn't work?
what type of internet connection is it? Dialup?
how is it hooked up to the computer?
did it work in another distribution/version/OS?
