Exclamation ./configure problems


I've installed slack 8.1 with the packs a, d, n and x
but everytime i try to run a ./configure it stops with the message:
"Checking for C compiler output... configure: error: C compiler cannot create executable"
i've done the full instalation of these packs so i don't know anymore what to do...
i have the gcc 2.95.3 installed
somebody please help me

I had the same problem with my Mandrake 8.2 install. I fixed the problem by uninstalling the gcc pacakages and installing them again. I don't know if this works for Slack, but you might try it.
