you really do need to post information that can be useful

there is nothing we can tell you because there is no usefull information

WHAT operating system ?
why are you NOT using the package manager for your distro ?
a
did you read the install instructions ?
the README and INSTALL text files and / or the docs in the "doc" folder ?

and if this really is the antique and long UNSUPPORTED RH8
well that has been dead and unsupported for a very long time
think of is as the equivalent of windows98 or 95

if you cannot properly write the name of the app you want to install, i can only assume that you did some similar mistake when trying to compile it.

As above, please provide necessary information and please ensure you spell your commands accurately. We may be forgiving, but the shell definitely isn't.
