configure gnome desktop backround

Hi all,
I used to log in to several hosts. My home is shared, so my gnome sessions look exactly the same on all hosts. It is a bit annoying, I would like to differentiate among them. Do you know a convenient way to do that (for example by configuring different background color)?

What about load a wallpaper or the desktop settings from the host that you are logged? Just an idea.

Regards
