You can probably pass something like --with-libavc1394dir=/path/to/files to the configure script. Run ./configure --help | less and see what options you've got.

Hello,

I got the same error message that put me on the wrong track for several hours
The solution apparead to be quite simple:
Install also the development libraries for libraw1394 and all should work (at least for me).

No dvgrab is working for me and I tried it (suse 9.2).
The moment it starts grabbing it quits with a segment fault.

Any idea?
