configure: error: C++ preprocessor "/lib/cpp" fails sanity check
This is my second day on linux so I have little clue what to do.. When I try to ./configure, it gives that error message. Running mandrake 9.2.. please help.

you may not have installed all the development tools, or none at all, the c++ preprossesor should be part of eather gcc or glibc.

Got past that part.. now comes up with error:
checking for X... configure: error: Can't find X includes. Please check your installation and add the correct paths!

Looks like you also need to install xfree86-dev and/or libxfree, libxfree-dev or whatever else you can find that looks something like that

I went back and installed all the developement packages I could.. I have less problems configuring now (having a LOT easier time now that I've used linux a bit more :P)

It could be a soluction but I have slackware 8.1 in an very old pc with 200MB of disk space, so to install ones I have to delete others. It will be a long week (install and unnistall) Cya m8
