Configuration with Package Manager (KDE)
I want to install php using the Package Manager tool (KDE: Start Application button - System - Package Manager). The default options include --without-mysql. I checked this with the phpinfo() function. Of course, I want to include mysql support. Is it possible to use the GUI's to configure php to work with mysql?
I've already accomplished this with a .tar.gz file ... the whole configure, make, install thing. I've been fighting with that for weeks. I find the method violently frustrating, and I hope that I can avoid ever having to configure and install packages with that method again. I hate trying to figure out what the options mean and whether I do and do not need to include them. I just want a list that I can cheerfully browse, marking yes or no.
