Config automount in Suse 9.3?

I've been trying ALLDAY to get my external FAT32 usb disk to work properly in Suse 9.3.
Suse detects it fine, mounted it fine, it's just that I want to change the default 'shortname' value to 'winnt' or 'mixed', so that folders with all uppercase letters will be displayed correctly.

Many thanks in advance :-)
