Computer freezing while booting kernel in Grub
I have just installed Gentoo on a machine (have done this many times before), however after compiling the kernel and rebooting, the computer initializes grub and continues to boot. It gets to a point "Uncompressing Linux... Ok, booting the kernel." and hangs. Nothing else, just blinking cursor and it goes no where. Has anyone seen this before or know of a possible solution/reason? The gentoo liveCd and Knoppix will boot the comp fine.

You didn't configure your kernel correctly. Boot off the livecd and try building your kernel again.

I have recompiled several times now, with "tweaked" configurations and still no go. I have never experienced this problem before. Is there anything in particular that I may be doing/configuring wrong?
