computer's running slow

I just installed pclos 2010 on my computer. It was running fine until today, I'm not sure what I did, I think it was after I installed a bunch of games, openoffice and wine. But now it's running really slow, flash is lagging so bad I may as well not use it, and the audio is completely gone.

One thing i did notice was among the packages it installed was some qt4 package was an upgrade. I don't know if that did anything or not.

can someone help me?

Try running top and seeing what's using the most resources.

that would be firefox and x, and system resources wouldn't completely mute the audio.

Well, are you running Pulseaudio? That uses a lot of resources

actually the fact that you installed openoffice and wine and are using them all on the same PC may be a cause because openoffice is known to be a heavy program on some pcs and now that you also have wine, that may be the problem, try and uninstall one of the two programs maybe wine and see if the computers speed will increase.
