Having no proof that one is better than the other, I've been compiling my kernel with built in options rather than modules. This does require me to learn more about my hardware (which is definitely worth the time) and takes longer to sift through what I do and do not want in the kernel.
I have recently came across a webpage that stated something like "The less built-in, the faster and more stable your computer will be."
My question is, Is this true. Or if you can't answer that, which might be the prefered method?
I am not flaming here ok. Check the timestamp again. My posts are both at 2:55am as my finger slipped and hit the button twice. I reported the thread as a bad post to the mods immediately. I've read the rules, which is more than I can say for a lot of users who have a ton more posts on this forum than I.
I thought about editting my post, but since I reported it, I'll leave it up to the mods
