Complete Java Installation in x86_64

I tried to install Java today. I just installed Fedora Core 5 for x86-64.

In the java website they have a package for 64, but it seems that it doesnt include webstart (thatīs what i really need from java, as my bank uses it) in the 64 bit version and suggests to use de 32 bit version.

I suppose I cant use the 32 bit binaries in my 64 kernel, is that correct?

When they suggest to use the 32 bit version, I am supposed to install the 32 bit Fedora Core in my computer???

thanks.

I don't know webstart, but if you have Java installed correctly, you might try using Konqueror. It doesn't have the same relationship with the plugin as Firefox.

There are several ways to use 32 bit binaries within the 64-bit os, but I'll let some Fedora person explain the best way to do that.

without going into too much detail, this has been posted a million times before. The easiest way for you would be to install yumex.
yum install yumex
then force i386 mode on yumex
install firefox
the dependancies will be taken care
then install the 32bit version of java and its plugin(read their directions)
problem solved
