Compiz stops working

About once every couple of hours or so Compiz stops working.

I also have the compiz-plugins thing.

I think it is linked to Spotify over wine, although I am not sure how.

Basically I can't switch between windows or workspaces. I have to go into Desktop Effects and click Enable Effects twice, one to disable, and one to re-enable.

If anyone know how to fix this problem (or repair it faster) your help would be appreciated.

Same for me, but I was using xfce4 as winmanager. I used to bring up the "shutdown" screen (key combination), close the message box and then it worked again.
