Compiz and Ubuntu monitor preferences conflict?
Not sure what happened but was using compiz under Ubuntu 10.4 on an eeepc, with all its rotating cube lovliness. All was well until I used the eeepc for a presentation and used the "monitors" app from the System -> Preferences menu. Now none of the compiz effects work. Anyone any ideas how to get compiz working again?

Bring up a terminal, run 'compiz &', and show us the output.

here it is...

That's the full output? If that's all you're getting, then it looks like compiz is starting up. After launching compiz that way, what's the output of 'ps ax | grep compiz'?

That was the full output. Strangely though that command seems to have fixed it! rotation, wobbly windows and all :) Thanks
