Compiling X11R6.8.1 (X.org) :: LFS

Compiling X11R6.8.1 (X.org)

Ok, i'm trying to compile X11R6.8.1, did the usual lndir to create a shadow directory tree, then in host.def set Buildfonts to NO, nd after that make World. After quite a while compilation stops, without any previous warnings/errors, just the message from /usr/include/linux/config.h (incorrect glibc/libc headers).
System is running lfs, which went fine (except for minor problems with ncurses which still needs to be tackled). Libc-headers 2.6.8.1 installed, with a fine 2.6.8.1 kernel.
I tried various config options in host.def, for example keeping the file as it is in the source distribution, following instructions from the BLFS handbook, and following instructions from comments in xorgsite.def, none of which seems to make a difference.
Could this really be the libc headers? And if so what causes it. If not, maybe problems with DRI (I don't need it)? I'm compiling it on a knoppix 3.4 (running linux 2.6.5) pc right now to see if it makes any difference.

Secondly and less important is the issue with ncurses. It seems that anywhere the shell tries to do a no_echo() or similar, it doesn't happen. Thus, running passwd just returns "No password given" for about 6 times, and then exits. /bin/login asks for a username and immediately replies "Login incorrect", which makes a login with agetty or something similar impossible. Currently i'm just using inittab to invoke /bin/bash --login, so for the moment i'm surviving. Furthermore, the shell gets screwed up after running an app which uses ncurses. This made me believe the problem lies with ncurses. Before i forget, this is ncurses 5.4. Otherwise system looks fine, network is up and everything's running.. ok, everything non-graphical.

cheerz

BTW: Above is NOT for Suse 9.1 . This is on a SEPERATE machine :: LFS
