Compiling OpenDarwin 8.1 <--(EIGHT POINT ONE) for x86

To get started, this is not about OpenDarwin 8.01 <--(EIGHT point OH ONE). I've downloaded everything off the Darwin 10.4.1 site. So... where do I start to compile Darwin?

I've got XP installed with Visual studio 2005. I also have a live Ubuntu CD, if that will help. I have no idea what commands to use to compile, or what I should do with everything after it has been compiled. I also have the OD 8.01 CD, would I just copy the contents to my hard drive and overwrite any files with the newer version, then burn it to a CD again?

Most likely, OpenDarwin is intended to be built using GCC and similar tools. Read their documentation on installation.
