compiling ntop (checking if ether_header uses ether_addr structs... no)


Hi I am trying to while running configure ntop and getting this message

"checking if ether_header uses ether_addr structs... no"

How do I sort this out, my OS is RedHat 5.4 (64bit)

Hi,

This is not an error. Unless ./configure ends with some error, you can continue by running make to build ntop

Hi,

You can't get rid of it. Besides it's not an error after all.
Don't forget that the source code is supposed to compile on different architectures, kernels compilers and so on.
So the ./configure script does some tests to find out how to compile the source for your system and it' s normal to see this kind of messages. On a different system you might see different messages.
