Compiling new kernel


Dear Guys,

I just download kernel version 2.4.4 and compiling it and have edit lilo.conf file but when i run /sbin/lilo to rerun the lilo but it give the error saying :

FATAL : KERNEL /boot/vmlinux-2.4.4 is too big

Anybody have hints for this matter

Make a bzImage instead of vmlinuz

What steps did u follow to recompile the kernel
