This is what happens after trying to meet the dependencies:

Code:
[root@pcp04374035pcs danny]# apt-get install XFree86-devel
Reading Package Lists... Done
Building Dependency Tree... Done
Selecting xorg-x11-devel for 'XFree86-devel'
You might want to run `apt-get -f install' to correct these:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
kdemultimedia: Depends: kdebase (>= 6:3.2.2) but it is not going to be installed
  xorg-x11-devel: Depends: xorg-x11-libs (= 6.7.0-5) but 6.7.0-6 is to be installed
E: Unmet dependencies. Try 'apt-get -f install' with no packages (or specify a solution).

Well in Debian what you would do in a situation like the is use apt-get install xorg-x11-libs=6.7.0-5 xorg-x11-libs-data=6.7.0-5 then using apt-cache policy other_packages_needed to find out the version = that you need too add to them when you put them on the apt-get install line satisfying the dependencies perhaps Fedora's apt works similar.
