compiling gaim-2.0.0beta3 on debian sarge, missing shared objects
 

Hi, I'm compiling gaim-2.0.0beta3 on debian sarge and it works just as expected, no errors at all.

But in /usr/local/lib/gaim, there are no *.so files, only *.a and *.la.
I tried to configure with "--enable-shared", but outcome is the same.

I'm using gcc 4.0.3 and ld 2.16.91

Why do you care? Have you run "./configure --help | more" to see what the proper options are to request shared libraries?
