I needed to compile amarok from sources, so that i could use the option : --with-libmtp so i could get my creative zen v plus working.

i followed the steps given on their website, and i started the compiling. everything looked as if it were going well, but then i get this message:

Does anyone know what this means, and how i can fix it? i really want to use my zen!

You probably just need to install the xserver development package(s).

This may be a dumb question, but are you sure that amarok wasn't already built with mtp support? Do you have the libmtp package installed. I use SuSE instead of Mephis, and I didn't need to rebuild amarok. By the way, I use amarok with my Creative Zen player. Check if you have the mtp commands, such as "mtp-files".

it does not come with built in mtp support, and libmtp isnt installed by default.

your right, some distros have the mtp support built in, (i tried it in PCLinuxOS and it works fine)

ok i got the things i needed, and i use this configure command, which the amarok guide says to use:

./configure --prefix=`kde-config --prefix` --withlibmtp

during the compile process, i get this error:

checking for KDE... configure: error:
in the prefix, you've chosen, are no KDE headers installed. This will fail.
So, check this please and use another prefix!
