Cool Command to download all required software from LFS

I haven't broke out 'lynx' in so long,.. Seems they added a feature called -nonumbers which makes downloading tons of links super easy.

So, i used it earlier to download all the required software in the LFS requirements.

Here you are:

Code:
lynx -dump -listonly -nonumbers http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/lfs/view/stable/chapter03/packages.html | egrep '(\.xz|\.bz2|\.gz|\.tar)' | xargs -n1 wget
If you have a simpler way, or a cleaner way, please do share.

There is a location that holds tarballs of all the needed packages used for building an LFS version: LFS Packages

Code:
wget ftp://ftp.lfs-matrix.net/pub/lfs/lfs-packages/lfs-packages-7.3.tar
I see 2 major upsides of using this url:
- 1 These tarballs would also include the patches that are needed.
- 2 Packages aren't always available any more when using the original download locations.

Veryyyyy nice. Yes, this is a good point as I had to spend a bit of time grabbing the correct urls for the 2/3 failed downloads.

Thanks much for this druuna.

The lazier i can be, the better
