Lightbulb Command not found messages

Hello dear friends
1. I want to use MidnightCommander(mc) in FC7 or FC8 but when I “mc” , this phrase appears: “bash: mc: command not found”
2. in these distributions I cant use “gconf-editor”. Here, the message that mentioned appears too.
Tank you very much

Please, don't mark a thread as urgent: it is not urgent for anyone of the LQ community. Furthermore a more specific title gives more exposure to your thread: a lot of people (as me in many occasions) ignore threads like "help me" or "urgent".

Anyway, the "command not found" error usually means you have not already installed the software you're going to use. Open the software manager and look for mc and gconf-editor or from the command line issue
Code:
 rpm -q mc gconf-editor
to see if they are already installed or not.

I've edited the title of the thread to something useful. In the future please use titles that describe or summarise your problem.

As for the problems you are having, make sure mc and gconf-editor are installed because not all distros install them by default.

This may be due to several reasons. The first silly question I have in mind: is the machine connected to internet? Then you can check if your repositories are correctly configured and enabled. Look in /etc/yum.repos.d/ and try to figure out what the problem is (if any).
