Exclamation :command Not Found

I have a 486 that I run RH6.2 on and I just did a reinstall. Now I'm trying to use the config file from the previous install to compile the kernel and when I try to load it all I get is :COMMAND NOT FOUND... A reward of gratitude for anyone that can figure that one out.
