Command line client for usenet news groups...

Hello all,

I've been looking for something that can be executed on the command line to fetch headers and maybe message bodies from usenet news groups. I don't need anything fancy, I just need to get a dump of the news group contents. I would love to be able to use something that I don't have to compile. I've tried newsfetch (great idea, but not working), and I've looked at tin (couldn't compile the software). Does Mutt or Pine or any of the other popular readers do this?

If anyone can help, or give me some good advice I would be grateful.

d

pine reads nntp quite well, and there are dedicated clients like inn and slrn
