Color separation after a webcam

Hi there. I may be faced with a problem to separate code streams for 3 colors at a webcam output: red, green and blue. How can I do it?

There is a Comparison of webcam software article on Wikipedia. I wonder if anybody is familiar with it and can advise me on that?

OpenCV might have an option to do something with that. But you might have to write a program to do that if you need realtime. Once you have a video, you can use ffmpeg to filter out parts and other edits. At a minimum extract frames as images and use an image program to extract things to taste.

@Shadow_7, thank you. I prefer to write a program myself although I want to know how I can address the webcam in a computer and possibly I will find it in your references. - Alex
