Cluster Over Internet?

Is there any way to set up a cluster to be connected over the internet rather than a local connection? If so, how? Can it be done with an OpenMosix distro? Or would I need to find another distro?

You can use MPI enabled application to create a beowulf cluster over the Internet; though I do not know how effective this will be.

Single System Image solutions like openmosix, are not suitable.
