Can any one tel me which way is best and easy to implement closed captioning, Hardware or software ...?

To implement? Are you looking to write an application or just to view closed captioning? From a /dev/video* device I suppose? Closed captioning is usually read from the vbi device (dev/vbi*), provided that you have some kind of tv tuner installed.

actually we need to extract the closed captioning data from the stream and then put it on the display.........

so which way is best to implement this.......
