clonezilla PXE

Hello. My school is looking at using clonezilla to reimage a bunch of laptops (ghost keeps hitting a security issue). I have the software and needed to make a backup of one of my machines as it is so I thought I would try it out. I set up the server just fine. I went to my laptop and tried to boot from lan. I get the following message

After that, it just sits there with my fan running hard. I am somewhat new to this software. I am at a loss as to why it is not booting properly. I would think if there was an error the machine would tell me instead of just sitting there.

PXE allows you to boot a PC using network resources i.e. DHCP and TFTP. I am not a Clonezilla expert, but, I am pretty sure Clonezilla is distributed on a bootale CD; thus, PXE booting is not required. Have you checked your BIOS boot order ensuring CD/DVD booting is enabled.

The CD brought it up. It should etherboot, but for some reason my machine would not do it? A cd brought it up. Thanks. Now I have another problem. The CD makes it so the computer can access the kernel via network. It does nto have the kernel on it. When I try to boot any machine (I have tried three of three different brands), I get a fatal error saying

I have checked the permissions on the file ti draws from, and it should be executable. I also just ran the program as the root user. That didn't work either. Maybe a reboot?

You speak of Clonezilla & setting up the server just fine; yet you do not mention DRBL, which the Clonezilla Wikipedia® page indicates is the Clonezilla server. -- Did you in fact install DRBL?

Please don't take offense, but do you have any prior experience PXE booting? Did you try a simple Clonezilla Live clone or back-up 1st?
