Clock not keeping time

It seems that my clock is thinking of a time all on it's own. My clock in Windows work find, I checked the clock in my BIOS and it was correct, but my clock sets to some off the wall time each time I log out and back in. Any ideas? Oh, and I do have it set to the correct region.

What sort of off the wall time? Can you give an example?

Do you perhaps have your Linux computer set to store time in GMT? It is the universal time for computers, usually translated on the operating system level, however, windoze does not understand it. Or, it could be that your linux OS thinks the time is in GMT, but it is really in localtime, therefore, so makes a conversion that way.

Anyway, if you give some more specific symptoms, a person could give a better answer.

Oh, maybe I did set it to GMT? I wasn't looking for a direct answer, just a point in th right direction. That is why I didn't take post all of the particulars. I will check that out. Thanks a lot for the info!

my clock has done this twice. each time (different installs) it would be 6 hours different some weeks after the install. i found that if i just set it to universal time and adjust all to be the same problems go away. john

All times are GMT -5. The time now is 07:33 PM.
