Unhappy clicking address in icedove opens dillo, while iceweasel is already open

My wife uses ion3 and at start-up initiates 4 windows, gterm, emacs, mail agent and brower. Recently she upgraded to debian 4.0.
Icedove is the new mail agent and iceweasel replaces firefox.
Now, when clicking a link in a mail dillo is started, and it
often complains, that it cannot access the link (ERROR: redirect
loop for: http://...), while iceweasel is ignored. Where do I look
for the file(s) to edit to correct this anomaly?

Unhappy

Hi
I don't have an answer unfortunately. Did you ever find a solution?

I have a similar problem. I have Iceweasel and Epiphany installed. Following a URL in an Icedove email opens Epiphany. I cannot find any setting for preferred browser in Icedove. I'm surprised it doesn't choose it's own flesh and blood so to speak.

(Off the topic, I set Iceweasal to be associated with html files in Gnome Preferred Applications - no problem.)

Cheers
Sven

Go to icedove's preferences, then the advanced tab, and open up the advanced configuration editor. Search for the strings "network.protocol-handler.app.http" and "network.protocol-handler.app.https". Set them to /usr/bin/iceweasel. Restart and that should allow it to open links in that application.

Thanks!

Thank you this worked wonderfully! In my case I didn't even have to restart Icedove.
