I don't understand why these keybindings are so "broke" I have relearn a whole different set
Why do these popular *nix CLI editors shun certain keys because they didn't _used to_ be on all keyboards ? I've never even seen a keyboard without CTRL/ALT/HOME/END/PGUP/PGDN keys, much less used one.
Besides, I've learnt by now that linux is all about choice and if someone wanted to use different keybindings, it's likely that some open source programmer hacked something together
But if you're right about the lack of such an editor, I finally have a useful programming project
