clearing new applications in gnome-main-menu 0.9.8.svn.20070430-1
hi all,
i have install on my debian lenny system the gnome-main-menu package, a.k.a the slab, with the nice menu. now, whenever i install a new program via apt or synaptic, i goto the menu, click on more applications and instead of putting the program under a category like sound and video it instead makes a new one called new applications right at the top. how do i get rid or clear this list? i tried removing gnome-main-menu using 'apt-get remove --purge gnome-main-menu' , then installing it again but then all my applications came up in the new applications list. people using gnome-main-menu will know what i mean. thanks. |
Tried using alacarte to remove it?

no, it creates a sort of "virtual" menu that only shows up in gnome-main-menu.

Hmm does it also place the application under a category or only in New Applications?
