"Clear Document History" In GIMP Is Faulty

I have a problem with GIMP 2.6.5. When i go to file>open recent>document history, the history box opens up, i click on the "clear the entire document history" button and the files are gone; file>open recent shows no files. The problem is that the next time that i use the GIMP all of the files are back!

And, yes, edit>preferences>environment>document history (keep record of used files in the recent documents list) is off.

Thanks.

Gus

It works fine on 2.6.6 for me. Have you tried the latest version?

It looks like i'll have to compile. *longfaced* But before i do that i would like to know where is the document history information stored. I could just put a /dev/null>/home/foo/.foo line in rc.local and be done with it. But i can't figure out where that information is. . .

Thanks.
