ClanLib0.7 installation from source

I use to program using ClanLib 0.6. ClanLib 0.6 was installed from mandrake rpm package that comes with my installation CDs.

I upgraded to ClanLib 0.7 which I built successfully from source.

ClanLib 0.7 libraryies are in /usr/local/lib
ClanLib 0.7 headers are in /usr/local/include/ClanLib
CLanLib 0.6 RPM was removed.

Now, when I compile my programs which use ClanLib, I get a bunch of errors because gcc seems unable to find ClanLib libs... but I made all common shell variables (LD_RUN_PATH, LD_LIBRARY_PATH, etc to /usr/local/lib)

What is wrong?

I followed all installation instructions present on clanlib.org FAQ.
